Haha so just as the title states, one of my Orphek PR-25 light bulbs caught fire yesterday! Not a huge fire or anything but it definitely wasn't pleasant smelling.
Does anyone else have any of these bulbs and how has your luck been with them? I've had 5 over the last 5 years and they all seem to stop working in one way or another. 2 of them, at different times, just randomly stopped working. Another one broke on the plastic part just under where it screws into the socket. The fourth one turns on with my lights then flickers for a min then shuts off. Then of course this last bulb I had smoked up my house. For a reef light bulb that was originally retailing for $250 I am blown away at how they don't last. Customer service replaced the first two bulbs that went out, after that though I haven't received an email back so I stopped trying. Although I will say, they grew coral like crazy!
