Osimolator sensor dead

After 6 months of perfection my osimolator has stopped working. I found a kink in the sensor cord that caused a tare in the cable. I think water has damaged the unit. I want to know what needs to be replaced and where to send it?

Which sensor is it? I have floats in stock, optic sensors will be back in stock next week.

Rogder How much do those sensors cost.I have the osmolator and I purchased an extra pump but I never bought an extra eye or float sensor.I would imagine you could take apart the unit to repair it.Are they soldered onto the unit or cliped thanks.

We don't sell them, it is not a DIY, they have to come in for repair and I generally charge $30 outside of warranty.

Thats insane I would be without the unit.Rodger you don't uderstand it would be like cutting off my right arm.I am so used to this device I couldn't function without it.If it breaks I will freak.This and my reef doser make life so easy.I would go buy another one if I had to wait 2 weeks or so for it.I wish ther were other things I could do to automate my system.

Sorry about that Roger. Its the optical sensor that is not working anymore. When I send it in what needs to go? I am assuming the pump and transformer do not need to be sent.

Steve, you would have to unsolder and resolder four wires that are about the diameter of a pin. It is not an easy task and if you overheat something it is ruined. Sensor failures are not very common, the sensors are not listed as a spare part or offered as one. To get sensors I have to make a request and it has to be approved by Mr Michelle, the head electrician at Tunze.

marrstarr- I have sensors in transit right now from the factory, I will have them toward the end of next week if you want to send it in. I don't need anything except the actual controller.

Thanks I could have a friend fix it but its nice to know that it doesn't break easy.Its bee one of my worst nightmares haveing the unit break on me.I am so dependant on it.I always worry if I have to go away for more than 3 days.Call me paranoid but something always happens when I go away.
