I've been using 2 Tunze Osmos to top off my two tanks for 3-4 years and am very happy with them..
I've had pumps temporarily go out, and after getting replacement up and running, found that vinegar soak and cleaning got original pump working again. So easy to swap them out now
But weirdness with one of my osmos today.
I turn them off when doing water changes. After water change on my 180, turned osmo back on but all I got was beep every ten seconds or so with controller flashing on “water level below.”
Upon review, I realized controller was not turning pump on when I plugged controller on. I soaked pump in vinegar and cleaned it but did not make a difference.
I then remembered that I had removed the “safety sensor to prevent the aquarium from flowing over” because it constantly came loose from holder and caused alarm to sound. I had it hanging over side of sump, careful to keep it in right position. So I used crazy glue to affix overflow safety sensor to magnet, reinstalled it in sump, and left system alone for a few hours.
Just went downstairs to feed fish, plugged Osmolater in, et voilÃ
(gefunden?), osmo pump started right up.
Yay.
