Osmolater 3155 Problems

So side history. I bought my osmolater from my LFS about a month ago, hooked it up per the instructions and everything ran fine for roughly 2 weeks. When out of the blue the pump would run for 10 mins but out of that 10 mins water would only be going to the sump for maybe 2-3 mins and then would stop but the pump would continue running. I figured this out after coming home from work every day to find the osmolater controller flashing red. So I would turn it off through my apex and cycle power and it would turn back on and work fine. Last week however after I would cycle power the pump would turn on by would not pump any water. So I would turn it off for 5-10mins thinking maybe the pump was getting hot and needs to cool. So would plug it back in after and it would run for maybe 2 mins pumping water then the last 8 mins it would still run but would stop pumping water. Then would go to flashing red lights again. This week it won't pump water at all and makes this un-godly noise. I would hope for $210 I would have gotten a better service life than this. Is it something I did, or is the pump jacked to (___) after only a month? In which case it would have cost me $100 less to just get float switches, a break out box, and a aqua lifter pump for my apex.

Two possibilities-

The pump has an air lock, simply tip it upside down under water to purge any trapped air, the air will result in noise and failure to pump.

The pump is defective and the motor is turning without engaging the impeller, if it is not the possibility above, than this must be the case and we can send a replacement pump. After 10 minutes it would shut itself off, this is an additional safety against overfilling and has nothing to do with pump overheating.

That seemed to fix most of the problems. Saw the air bubbles leave the pump but took a bit of time start pumping actual water. I'll keep tabs on it though.

Well scratch what I said earlier. I think it's just a bad pump. So much for $200+ spent on a unit >:( The pump turns on and pumps water for about 15-30 secs then while still running ceases to pump anymore water for the remaining 10 mins. This is so frustrating.

It really is not a big deal, email me your invoice and we can send a pump. Even if you soaked the controller, every part is individually replaceable or repairable and their is a 2 year warranty. Tunze@sbcglobal.net
