Hi Roger (or any lurkers who can help)

Just picked up the osmolator 3155 today. "Tested" it and it works as advertised. My question is this:

If the water where the pump is located runs out - will the pump turn itself off or will it just keep trying to run dry?

I have not tested the "10 minute" run time. Should I lower the sump water level to confirm it will stop itself after 10 minutes? I did do a simple test run to see if the sensor was working properly and it ran fine.

Thanks in advance!

The pump stops after a few minutes if your reservior drys out. It has saved my behind a few time. I forget to refil the reservior sometimes. It's a great product!

The pump is not really harmed by running dry because it is a simple DC motor like you would by at Radio Shack, behind a rubber seal driving an impeller. The water does not cool the motor. The 10 minute time out is more from the standpoint of "Hey, this thing isn't full yet, tank must be leaking."
