when I plug it in the red light stays on, the other red light blinks, and the alarm goes off. This has happend in the past, I just wait, try again later, and it works. Any idea whats going on?

The float switch is hung correctly.. I just went to double check. And, when I pluged the thing in, it worked, just like in the past. I have not been able to get the thing to work for like a week now. Just seems odd. Any other thoughts on what it could be? If I sent it to you It would work like a charm, i'm sure.

Did you install any new electronics near it or magnets? A magnet cleaner, ballast or pump could cause magnetic interference and may explain the intermittent problem.

I have a skimmer pump, a power head, and a couple of heaters. But the closest thing (heater) is still a foot away.... and the ph's are 14, and 16inches away.

If one of tose items is going bad it may be a culprit. If for example the heater turning on, coincides with the failure. I would take a look at that. It is more the proximity to the float switch or the control unit that is an issue, the optic sensor tends to not have interference issues.

Ok. I will look into this... Sounds like I will be able to figure out whats happening with a bit of experimenting. Thanx for your help.
