Osmolator Alarm

I just got my Osmolator today, and I tried to follow the amazingly non-helpful instructions (the pics are small and hard to read, and the text description isn't very...descriptive). Anyway, I am pretty sure that I hooked it up correctly except for 2 things:

1) the pump whines, which I assume means that it is spinning and pumping water. It's not loud, so that's not the issue. But I have yet to see any water exit the hose. What am I missing here?

2) I shut off my return pump to feed my tank, but then the alarm went freakin nuts because of course the water went above the high level sensor. What's the best way to handle this? Shut off the osmolator when I shut down the return pump? Any other way to do it?

TIA

1) If you tip up the pump to let the air out and get it primed it should work.

2) I would raise the float switch to the lowest point where this won't happen or try cutting off all pumps except the return.

I disconnect mine when I know that the level in the sump is going to change. ie: water changes and skimmer adjustments. P.S. remember to hook it back up after your done. I am sure that once you have it set up that you will LOVE IT!!!!!

I didn't tip the pump, but after a few tries the water does come out. I think that it just needs to fill the hose.

As for the alarm switch, I did raise it to the highest point in my sump beyond where the water level rises to after I shut off my return.

Thanks for the response!
