Hi
I have a Osmolator 3155, I am contemplating using Kalk in my RO/DI topoff water, is the pump/tubing up to this or will it kill it. Any advice is appreiciated.

The pump life will be shortened and not covered under warranty, expect a pump life of 12 months about with kalk so long as the pump does not take in any slurry.

Thanks Roger, will the tubing be affected with Kalk, is there tubing that is compatable.

It will harden over time and kalk will build up inside but it won't break or suffer any ill effects. You will just need to clean it with vinegar or replace it every few years. It hardens even with just RO water over about the same period.

Many thanks again, should I clean the pump with vinegar every few months, sorry for all the questions I am just about to start with kalk this weekend and I want to get it right.

That might help extend the life slightly but the main issue is the high pH eats up the seal of the pump. I would get a spare pump.
