Roger,
I have a 3155, and the pump sits at the bottom of a 15 gallon reservoir. It feeds uphill to an MRC Nielson reactor and from there, the reactor runs down hill to feed the sump. There is no back siphoning problem from the sump since the reactor since it runs downhill to it, and there is no further forward siphoning since the reactor breaks it. However, I noticed one day that the reactor back siphoned into the storage reservoir (kalk in the reservoir)ââ"šÂ¬Ã‚¦which is strange bc it seemed to be working fine for a year or so and this never occurred.
(1) Does the water level in the container have to sit higher than the height of the Nielson?
(2) Can I just add a check valve between the pump and the reactor?
(2b) If yes, is 1/4" the right size?
thanks
