Osmolator back-siphoning

Just hooked up another osmolator to a new tank, I have one running on my main tank with no problems.

Last night I come home and the alarm is ringing - the water level in the sump was high enough to raise the float alarm. The pump had stopped pumping water but was siphoning water from my RO bucket. Luckily I caught it in time or I would have had a huge problem on my hands.

What is causing the siphon to form? The pump stops running when the level is reached, but the water keeps coming. I shut it down until I find a solution.

Thanks!

If you look in the manual every illustration shows the hose has to go up to the tank. The sensors go in the sump but you can only defeat gravity one way and that is to accept it and pump up.

It is pumping up...
The hose goes from the pump on the bottom of the RO container, which is a 32 gal. rubbermaid, along the floor and then up into the sump. Am I missing something??

Run the hose to the tank and problem solved, siphons occur if the water in the bucket is higher than the water in the sump.
