Osmolator died

Hello Roger,

My Osmolator after many years of reliable service (at least 5) quit on me. The green LED just barely blinks when I plug it in. It also has a burnt smell from the board. Does this sound like it is worth repairing? I assume it would need a new board. I purchased a new Osmolator to replace it, but it would be nice to have a backup if it weren't too expensive. I went back to a new Tunze unit because it has served me well, and your customer service is awesome. It is probably the best unit out there anyways.

Thanks !!

Steve,

It is not likely repairable, I am happy to have a look and would discount a new controller or full osmolator if we cannot repair it, but you are looking at $120-$170 about if the controller cannot be repaired.

Thank you!

Roger,

Thank you very much for the reply. I just recently purchased a brand new Osmolator online with a discount. I really appreciate the offer, but I'm happy with the price I got it for. I really got my money's worth out of the old one. I just thought I would ask if it was worth repairing. Now I know

Thanks again,

Steve

Yes, sorry for the bad news, usually what burns is a transistor and this is usually caused by a short to the pump, either at the connector or a faulty pump that was not noticed for an extended time.
