Osmolator does not shut off with optical sensor

I purshased the osmolator one week ago from BRS and have been messing with it several times daily because the electric eye does not shut off the pump. I have tried soaking the sensor in vinegar as well as cleaning it off in hot water. I have it m ounted in a low flow area of the sump.

I am not sure what to do next. Also it shuts off sometimes without the mechanical sensor/alarm activating (but the water level is two inches over the electric eye). Then a few minutes later it comes back on and pumps in more water! Also, at times the red "water too low light" flickers sporatically.

Please advise.

I've had similar issues. I wonder if a bad batch got out.

What was the solution? A replacement? I have the same issues
