Osmolator issue.

Hi Rodger;
My osmolator is working fine but since restarting it the red low alarm goes on everytime the pump starts to does.

Also a question on the new 9014 skimmer. Besides the obvious overflow and cup change, is there much difference from my 9011 ?

Thanks
Doug

I assume you mean the 9012? It is much stronger as the pump is a needlewheel pump. It also surface skims. However, it really is only suitable for in tank use or a very deep sump.

How old is this osmolator? That is odd if it happens soon, the too low light should only come on if a fill is not registered within 10 minutes.

My Reefpack is in my sumpless tank. Now I wish I had separate components. Could sell my skimmer and get the new one.

The osmolator came with the Reefpack and is less than a year old with even less use. It kept doing that until my tank almost overflowed. Shut it down for a day, cleaned it up & reposition it. Seems to be working fine now.

There will eventually (next 6 months) be a new Reefpack with the 9012.

After a year it is possible for debris and calcium build up to affect the sensor, this usually becomes an issue at about 9-12 months in.

Must have been something like that. Working perfect now. Thanks Rodger
