Osmolator Nano Issues

I purchased a new Osmolator Nano in Dec and just got it set up on my bedroom 5 gal SpecV.

The float triggers constantly (~every 30 seconds) and the pump is far too loud. I have moved the float to other spots to no avail. I've also made sure pump has no air on the intake and is not resting on the bottom or sides of reservoir.

I've always had great luck with Tunze products but pretty frustrated right now.

I was just thinking about my situation and think I may have 1 issue figured out.

I think there may be a back siphon happening that would cause it to run far more often.

If that's the case (I'll check tonight when I get home), I still need to figure out the noisy pump.

Do they tend to quiet down a little over time? Can I adjust the pump or float at all?

It will trigger frequently because the tank is so small. The hose should not be touching the waters surface, otherwise it will back siphon. The pumps are definitely not quiet, but if you suspend it so it does not touch the walls of the container the noise is greatly reduced.
