osmolator not topping up

Hi I am getting a problem on this unit now probably about 18 months old. The level ok light is lit when at the water level but if I lift it slightly that light goes aout and I would expect the pump light to come on, it fails to however and after 10 mins or so without any operation of the pump the low water level light starts to flash. Is it dead?

It could be that just the pump is dead and the LED. I might try a new pump, it is always a good item to have a spare of on hand. If the new pump doesn't fix it I would contact Tunze UK for repair service.

Thanks Roger, does the light on the control unit indicate the pump is actually running then rather than there just being a demand for it to run?

It only indicates a demand for it to run, the LED is a problem but it may not be why it doesn't work, it could be just a bad LED and a bad pump.

Thanks, last one for you just to rule the pump in or out. Do you know what sort of voltage I should be looking for at the pump connector, obviously DC but any idea on the expected voltage?. Presume a lack of v here means my controller has died.

Thanks for the help Roger I emailed tunze uk the other day regarding the problem as I read the instructions and realized it has a 24 month warranty.....uk after sales and technical doesn't seem to be quite as 'on the ball' as the fantastic service you give over there, but I'm sure I'll hear something back someday!
