Osmolator power supply died

Roger, my power supply finally died on me (been a few years using this GREAT product!).
And now I need to replace it.
I had always ran it on 12v as you said it was fine to do.
My question, I have piles of power supplies laying around, but I don't know what mah is best to be used.

On that note, it seems that the plug for this that goes into the osmolator itself is NOT a common size! Do you know what the size/type is for it? I know radio chack has tons of this stuff, and even the adaptors for doing this as well.

I noticed a little corrosion on the end of the plug, so I am assuming that this is what was causing my latest issues with the unit being touchy about how I plugged it in. I had to wiggle just right before it would keep the power on.
I borrowed a power supply that happened to plug in, and it works perfectly again, no wiggling, etc.
But I have to give that one back, and I want one that matches up optimally.

Thanks again Roger.

It is a common size, I am not positive but if I remember it is 5mm with a 2.5mm hole. The transformer is tip positive with 800mA at 9V. If you buy it at Radio Shack, get 12V as there power supplies always seem to produce a bit less than they are rated for and the 9V may not be enough. I know it doesn't run our CO2 Controller very well and my tests showed it really produced 8.5V and ours is more like 10V at the 9V setting.

Hmm, good point on the power supplies not being up to snuff.
Ok, so 800 mah is ok at 9v, so anything close at 12v should be ok. I will aim a little lower for amperage though.

It should be 800mA regardless of voltage 9 or 12V. Don't get me wrong, the radio shack units are well made and reliable, just put out less power.
