Osmolator Problem

I have a 8 month old Osmolator that seems to be haywire. When the water drops below the sensor it turns on and refills the water, but instead of turning off for good, it stops and turns on again and refills to the very top of the sensor. I'm wondering why it turns on twice every time it has to refill when it is well above the sensor after it turns off the first time?

There are 2 main causes of the problem you describe,

Air bubble sticking to the sensor and a faulty sensor.

A dirty sensor usually will have the opposite problem and always reads as full, I could imagine it is possible that there is just enough dirt to trap a small air bubble so cleaning could solve the problem.

We generally don't sell the sensors, they have to be soldered to the board and they have 4 very fine wires, there is also a capacitor that is part of this circuit that should also be checked. The warranty is 2 years and a problem during that time would be handled by us quickly if you just send in the controller. After warranty, optic sensor replacement with labor is $45.
