Osmolator problem

I've had an osmolator for almost a year now and it has worked great until recently. Ocassionally it won't sense the water level decrease and doesn't add water. I was gone for the past two days and I came back to find the water level about an inch and a half below where it should be. There was water in the storage tank and the unit was working fine otherwise, I rubbed a wet finger over the sensor and then it sensed the low water and began pumping. I've tried soaking the sensor in RO water to remove any calcification that might have occurred. I did this a few days before I left because I wanted to make sure it would work while I was gone, but apparently it didn't help. Its in a low flow area of my sump where there is virtually no surface turbulence or bubbles present. Any ideas on whats going on or how I could fix it?

Try vinegar. RO Water alone won't do it, put the sensor in straight vinegar. If that doesn't work send it in and I will take a look but I think it is just a film of lime.
