hi roger,

For some reason, the pump appears to have malfunctioned. This morning I noticed my sump had too much water in it and the red "too high" alarm was sounding. After turning off the controller and waiting for the water to level, I turned on the controller again and now the pump just spins and then stops with the beeping yellow low water light. This is just for fresh water top-off (no kalk). I verified that the sensor was clean and there was nothing obstructing it in the sump.

I purchased this about 4~5 months ago from Marine Depot. Besides getting a replacement pump, is there some other thing that I'm missing (in terms of checking)?

Thanks!

Their could just be air in the pump, try tipping it upside down and see if any bubbles come out after you reconnect power.

If this doesn't work I will send a replacement, PM me your address.

Well- I had taken the pump out and was waiting to hear back from you - and when I put it back in - it was working fine. Go figure. THANKS for the quick response and help!

Keep an eye on it. If the motor is running but not pumping, it sounds like their was either air in it or the impeller has been seperated from the shaft.

I will keep an eye - or really an ear on it. When it whirs too long I know some kind of problem occurred. Thanks for your time! I really appreciate it.
