Osmolator pump dead after 15 months!

Not sure why this would happen so quickly but my 5000.02, 9/12v Osmolator pump began to make a "louder than usual" noise when running this past week and today it's toast.
I don't see any way to disassemble this pump as to clean it.
I have checked all the electrical connections and cleaned the wire connector (the 4 screw connector) and everything seems fine, but the pump seems to be finished!
Help me, please! I hate manual top-off and this device was way expensive.

That is actually about the normal life for that pump, they are readily available, Marine Depot stocks them and they are only about $18. They last from 1-3 years under normal use conditions (RO water only), if used with kalk 6-18 months is about the best you can hope for, unfortunately they are kind of consumable item that has to be replaced periodically as it is just a DC motor with a seal over it and the seal can fail over time allowing water to short the motor out.

Okay, so my 24 month guarantee (pg. 61 Osmolator 3155 manual) dosen't cover this?
I have never run limewater through it (CA reactor supplies my system well) and I use a 4 stage RO/DI unit with current TDS registering at 0.

I have purchased your stream pumps which work very well, but a top-off unit for $160 I feel like this shouldn't be happening, am I wrong?
Thanks, Lonnie

I am sorry but that is the way the pumps are, if you want to send it in it is covered by warranty but I need to get it back to get it covered on my end and the fastest solution is to order one and at least have a spare because they can and will burn out. We are only talking about $18 pump, just like your Stream will eventually need a $27 drive unit and your car will need $200 in brakes. They are just things that wear out.

Okay, fine! -hehehe
Does somebody offer the adapter to connect a standard PH to the unit as I have several maxi-jets not in use?
Thanks Roger!

It is part 3150.11. I think Marine Depot stocks that part, I have one here if they are out or you want to order it somewhere else. I don't know that the Maxi Jet can handle the head pressure. I am sorry but if we could find a better pump that didn't cost a fortune and ran on low voltage we would use it but their is no such animal. That switched socket costs about $50 and you can almost buy 3 pumps for that, it is really offered for huge tanks that need an Iwaki or something like that to supply them. The first osmolators we made about 20 years ago had a peristaltic pump but they also wear out and they always need new tubing, it also made the osmolator a $250 item.

Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢ve been impressed by the pumps longevity. I have 3 in use. In the past 10 or so years Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢ve only burned 2 or 3. Thatââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s with limewater. The vats of limewater have a powerhead on a timer to stir 2x day. Gone through 10s of powerheads. $18 once a year, not to have to topoff is a deal. How do people live without Osmolators. Long life to your next pump.
