osmolator pump will not stop

my osmolator top off will not stop pumping water. usually when that happens i will have to clean the optical eye from sludge but i did that and it still will not stop. any suggestions on how to fix this or can i send it in for RMA?

I purchased this 8/18/08 at marinedepot.

Send it in, we will replace it if it cannot be repaired but it sounds like it needs a new optic snesor.

I have a major problem with the replament unit. The problem now is NOT that the pump won't stop but it will not turn the pump on. Sometimes the pump turn on and pumps normally but after a while it just won't turn on. I would have to disconnect power to the osmolator control unit leave it off for 5 min and the connect power. The pump will start working and stay working for a couple days. But this morning the pump wasn't working so I tried to cycle the power like I normally did, since I received this replacment unit, but the pump will not turn on and the led indication for low water, pump on, and normal water level will not light up. Normal water level will light up if I touch the optical eye to the water level.

We sent a brand new controller, so I have to assume the problem is with the pump. If it draws too much power the osmolator will shut off. I do test the pumps if they are sent in, but only for a brief test to see that they work. Can you PM me your shipping info and we can try a replacement pump?

just want to say thanks for the great customer support. I received the replacement friday and it has been working great all weekend. Awesome customer support and great products are the reasons why so many people recommend Tunze and i'm also glad Tunze support forum is here on RC. It makes it so much easier.
