Osmolator question...

Roger,

Given that Osmolator 3155 has been around for quite a while pretty much unchanged, except for the magnet mount, are there plans (that you can disclose) to either come out w/Osmolator 3156 or IOW, Version 2? Meaning a new/revamped product. Perhaps w/two optical sensors instead of one and one float. More lights blinking, a new double integrated sensor... or some other bells and whistles or novelties? Or perhaps a price drop ;) ... The skimmers, filters and wave-boxes are getting a redesign, is there one in the cards for the Osmolator within foreseeable future?

Or... the product is perfect as is and does not require any updates? ;)

Thanks!

It actually has been upgraded several times. The 3155 replaced the 3150 in 2002. While the model number has stayed the same, the circuit board has been revised several times and most recently in Nov 2010 the board was completely revamped. You can also adjust the pump speed and the pump now connects with quick connect clips.

The prototype 3155 we first demoed at Interzoo in 2002 had two optic sensors. This was cancelled for the present design because true safety requires two completely independent systems. Whatever might cause one optic sensor to fail could cause the second to fail, so a completely independent and different system was decided on as the safest option.

I am sure some more tweeks and updates will be made but it is a slow evolution and no radical changes are expected any time soon.
