Osmolator Question?

Hello,

I would like to try out the Tunze Osmolator and don't know if it will handle my needs.

My top off resovoir is about 18 feet away from my tank. Would it be possible to extend the wiring and hose to make it work? Will the pump be able to handle the distance?

The hose would basically be running along the floor until the hose got to the tank where it would have to go up about 5' so that it would drain directly into my tank to avoid a siphon.

Will this product work?

Ideally the reservoir would be closer, it comes with 10ft of hose and the pump wiring is about 10ft from the controller. You could extend both within reason but long runs tend to result in problems, for example air bubble trapped in the pump, oxidized wiring resulting in the pump not operating. The best would be to have a smaller reservoir nearer the tank. The pump can handle 9ft of head pressure.

Yes, you just will need to be cautious that the wiring is sound and not prone to getting wet or corrosion and that the pump is primed and not allowed to run dry or you may have to reprime it. It is generally self priming but very long hose runs may defeat the self priming.
