Osmolator sensor too low

Hello. I just received my Osmolator, but I am having trouble mounting the sensors.

I have an AGA 20H, so it has the typical framing on the top. I keep my level just below the horizontal lip that sticks out from the frame. When I triy to mount the sensor of the 3155, it is more submerged than I would like it to be. Is there way to mount it any higher and keep it well fastened to the aquarium?

Yes, rather than attaching the clamp through the wide notch in the rail you can attach it through the holes for the sensor clip, this allows you to bring the sensor up higher. You would then just cut it off near the top. You can get a more secure mount with set 3000.244 which is longer screws and a suction cup with a spacer to secure the bottom of the rail.

I had tried putting the mounting pieces through the holes rather than the notch, but that didn't seem to help. Maybe I am misunderstanding what you are saying. When I tried that, the sensor was kept at the same relative location to the mounting screws, which were resting on the aquarium framing and thefore setting the elevation of the sensor.

I found the ideal solution but you will need the nano magnet holders. The float switch cannot be near a magnetic field so you have to mount it as shown and then submerge the magnet so the sensors are at the required depth. I tried this and it works.

I have been thinking about doing something like that with the extra nano magnet I have. I want to attach both sensors somehow to one magnet. Maybe I will glue or zip tie a small portion of rail to the one attached to the magnet for the optical sensor. I have all my equipment mounted in the tank so the less obtrusive the better. I think I have some of those screws lying around.

Of course, now I have to ask where I can get the nano magnet holders. I'm assuming you mean the nanostream magnet holders. I did a search on part number 6025.500 but can't find any place to purchase.

Rog, how much noise should the osmolator pump produce? I set mine up two weeks ago and it produces an easily audible whir when running. Is this normal?

Yes, this noise can be greatly reduced by making sure the pump is suspended so the noise is not reverberating off the reservoir bottom.
