Osmolator Universal 3155 (circa 2006) replacement pump

I have an older 3155/5017 where the pump died a couple of years ago. Instead of replacing the pump, I used the 12v lines to power an automotive relay. This relay triggered my Apex to start a remote pump powered by the EB8 to add top off water. This was a serviceable workaround on my existing "large" tank, but now I'm downsizing to 30gal AIO and would like to finally replace the pump.

Are the newer pumps still compatible with the older controllers? ie. same voltage and amperage?

Thanks!

Serial Number if needed.

It will only work if the original 9v or switchable 9/12V power supply set to 9V is used and the wiring is clean and free of corrosion. The pumps at that time had a single seal and used less power, the controller could supply 800mA, newer pumps have a dual seal and need more power, the only way to stay below the 800mA cut off is lower voltage and clean wiring.

Thanks for the reply Roger. I have the original 9v/12v PSU, but it's a brick. Is the newer PSU switched/smaller? Do you have part number for both the replacement pump and PSU?

Thanks again!

The new power supply is smaller, but won't work in this case. It is constant 12V, new controllers can handle a 1200mA load and have a speed control in the controller for the pump. The pump is 5000.020.

It might work, but the correct tip I believe is 5.5 by 2.5mm, that one is 2.1mm.
