Osmolator Universal 3155 sensor failure

The electronic water level sensor on my Osmolator has failed. All other functions work as expected-- when I re-start the Osmolator, the pump runs for a few seconds, the float switch also works. However, when the water level is low, the electronic water level sensor doesn't "sense" the low level. The unit was purchased on 9/24/10. As the description states "the precise water level is ensured by a non-wearing optical sensor and a transistor switch without any moving parts. This sensor is insensitive to soiling, light or magnetic fields." Why would the part wear out? I've cleaned it and it still doesn't work. How can I obtain a new one?

The optic sensor has failed and this will typically be due to a short caused by either a pinhole in the sensor seal where water entered it and shorted the connections or a break in the wiring, inside the cable to the optic sensor are four very fine wires, they are smaller than telephone wires and multistrand instead of single strand, if pulled or pinched hard they can break. If you send it in we will unsolder the old sensor and install a new one, just include a return address and phone number in the box. You are barely out of warranty, but provided the wire is not cut or physically damaged their will be no charge, this sensor should last more than 5 years.
