Osmolator without Top Off Reservoir Tank

Hi Roger,

I am wanting to order an osmolator for my tank. At this time I have a float valve in my sump which is fed directly from my ro/di. I've been told that these can easily fail.

Can an osmolator placed in my sump be hooked up directly to my Ro/Di line. I have my line running from kitchen up through the attic and down into my sump.

I've been reading many of the posts but all seem to use a top off reservoir.

Thanks,

Cindy

Your best bet would be to feed the RO/DI into a container with a float valve that the osmolator pumps the water out of into your tank. That way if the float fails, worst case you just have to clean up the water but it doesn't destroy your tank.

As Brewboy said. The Osmolator includes a pump and should not be used to switch a relay.

Thanks Roger and Brewboy!

If I feed my ro into a reservoir can I have the water go to my sump rather than my tank?

How large of a reservoir should I use?

Going to the sump is not a good idea- the water always needs to be pumped up otherwise when the pump stops gravity will create a siphon. I generally find 7-10gal is sufficient for most applications.
