OT.....Any bikers here?

Works for me!

Jean and I ride with the Southern Cruisers - I'll contact one of the Road Captains and see if he already has a route mapped out.

With a bit of luck he can e-mail it to me and I'll load it into my GPS.

I know some good back roads out to titusville and back through st cloud. its a good ride out... stop for lunch and then head back. All of us on ricers cant go that far without a stretch break!
 
I have a back roads route to Tampa -
One of the Road Captains from the SCRC gave me a MS Street & Trips map that we used for a group ride to Tampa. Thanks Gator!!

All we need to do is pick a starting point and I'll build the rest of the route to the aquarium. And hopefully load it into my GPS and off we go!

Jean and I are both looking forward to the ride.

Sounds great!!! This should be good time. What day, time, starting point and a head count would be nice.
I for one will go.
 
I believe Matt was thinking about this heading out this Sat.
We are on the west side of town - so let's see who all is riding and pick a point on the way.

Sounds great Nick. Thnx for working out trip details. BTW, I like Jean's bike. That's exactly what I want to get for Mel. May be after she see's Jean's it'll push her over the edge.

Once you get the GPS map, can you email me a copy? I might be able to load it into my gps also.

We probably need to get a roll call together. This is a Tampa ride to hit the Aquarium. From what I remember, in that area near the Aquarium there's excellent food joints, shopping and cool stuff to see. Tickets to get in are under $20.

Here's one thought:
Leave Orlando Saturday morning 9:00 AM start. Kick stands up at 9:00 AM ! Ride out nice and easy, back roads to Tampa.

I might suggest that everyone get to the Home Depot by 8:30 Am so that we can get organized for the ride and go over safety and make sure that everyone is clear on safe riding rules as a group. This will be a slow and easy back roads ride. My wife will be on her bike making her first long distance run on her own. So I want to make sure she's at comfortable speeds.

Let's get a roll call together and make this happen !

MS Street didn't want to talk to my GPS - so I'll enter the map starting at Home Depot and e-mail you the file.
I have a 2730 so it should talk to your Nuvi.

I really like the Deluxe too - but it's a bit small for me. HD is running some good financing deals on '07's thru July 31.

Hi Guys, I took a ride to Ybor city that consisted of west on 50, south on 33 to Polk City, then west on 582 (Griffin) to Tampa. Good roads, not much traffic. There is a detour on 582 to 301- bridge out- to 301, and a big dip after crossing the railroad tracks on 582, other than that is a beautiful ride in the country.

I am in, most likely riding solo. Meeting point and time will work for me.
Speaking of safety......will this be all gear required, helmet only, or ride at your own risk?

Just got my bike fixed, had electrical problems and a gear case leak. Also figured may as well have an oil change done. So, should be all set.
Make sure you show up with a full tank!

We typically ride with helmets (occationally w/o). I'd say ride how you're comfortable and be safe. I'm definately bringing rain gear just in case.

I'm really looking forward to this trip. We're going to have a nice ride.
 
wasn't planning to unless the group decides otherwise. The aquarium is in the opposite direction and packing corals or fish in the bags of my bike might not be the best idea :).
 
Hey Matt,

I just finished wiring in my new light bar and GPS - that was fun.......
Right up until I flipped the switch and heard a fuse pop :eek1:

Turns out the connector inside the spot wasn't attached :mad2:
At least it wasn't something I did wrong.....

Oh well, popped in my only spare fuse and the light bar and GPS worked!! I've got to get some spare fuses tomorrow, button up the lights and I'm good to go.

I didn't have time to enter the route into Garmins Mapsource. I'll take care of that tomorrow and e-mail you the file later on.

Also - did some checking on video gear for SRC. I can get the tripod screens for half of what the hotel wanted.
And I can get a very good price on the projector, switcher and DA's... So we'll be well within the budget.
 
Hey, Nick, glad to hear your GPS is now on-line. I'll be wiring mine in tomorrow night after work. Looking forward to seeing the route you put together. Mel and I both really need this ride... It'll be good to get away and decompress for a while.

SRC AV sounds excellent. Much appreciate the extra effort and looking into the cost analysis. Again, it sounds like we're in excellent shape as we move forward.
