OT: any DSLRs FS?

Looking for a good price on a DSLR camera. Going to Costa Rica in two weeks and would like to upgrade cameras to get some good nature shots (reptiles, amphibians, birds, etc) while there. Would also love to take better pics of my tank :). Anyone have one laying around with lens?

If you don't find a good deal you could always rent a setup from lensrentals.com or one of the other top camera rental sites.
I have used them before rather than shelling out huge money for high-end lenses.

You can rent a kick-*** camera and lens for your trip and at the same time get a feel for what you like or not in a DSLR before dropping any major coin.

Beware of the high-end glass though, it'll suck you in and your wallet dry if not careful. :D

Will check it out, Thanks guys!

Well, I managed to pickup a Canon Rebel T3i with a standard lens and telephoto for a great price. Is it the general consensus that a macro lens is the only way to shoot my tank inhabitants or will the regular lens work?

Thanks Pedro, do you have a recommendation on focal length for macro lenses? I've seen some people talk about 50mm and 100mm but not sure which would be right to use. Thanks!
