OT: Anyone in the club brew their own beer?

As the title states...anyone in CTARS home brew? I'm looking for some advice on a few new recipes/kits to try out. I don't have the equipment for all grain, so it would have to be a partial grain or extract recipe. I prefer dark beers and have made several stouts & porters, but I've also got an IPA in primary and a Corona clone conditioning. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

I have done it a few times i dont have the equipment for grain either so i have done extract recipes. I started trying it once the place Stop Crush opened up down the street from my house a little over a year ago i think. I tried a porter i found in a beer brewing book but didn't like that one as much as others i have tried. My favorite kits i have done so far are Brewers Best: Imperial Pale Ale, English Brown Ale, and Oktoberfest (which took a little more to do but still wans't too bad) Their Kolsch also wasn't one of my favorites.
Of all the ones I've tried the IPA may have been the best.

I'd love to try an Oktoberfest, but I don't have a spare fridge for lagering temps and my house has a crawlspace, so basement lagering is out as well. I was thinking of brewing an Oktoberfest with an Ale yeast so it could be fermented at warmer temps, but I'm not sure how it would turn out.

I was going to do it that way and heard its not too bad done as an ale, but ended up freeing up some room in the basement fridge. I would say give it a try or read some reviews of it done as an ale online first.

I used to brew. It's funny, my water change buckets are old home brew buckets with spigots. Haven't brewed in years but still like to drink :D.

love brewing love the slow honey way but i will dig up some dark recipes for you that are extract i get to you soon i have about 4 brews going now :)

Not to bad little time in the kitchen and the couple months waiting to drink fun to see what u can make I bought couple kits in the day :)

I just ordered supplies for a few batches, but still looking for suggestions. Next three brews are going to be a blackberry porter, dunkelweisen, and Oktoberfest with an ale yeast.

That will be prefect just throw it in there. And watch for that one to bubble over a lot durring the first week or so. the yeast went crazy for me.

Scott you ever make a mead or any one else. i have a strawberry mead thats been sitting for about a year, time to bottle it wondering if anyone does those.

I've never tried it... Way too impatient to wait a year. I had an imperial stout that took 6 months and it was murder waiting for it.
