OT- Anyone into Ceramics?

It's funny, the wheel I found on CL was like 3 miles down the road from me. It's a really nice Brent CXC about 15 years old or so. It's had the pedal and circuit board serviced and it runs great.

Jason, Here's a shot of the kiln loaded before the final fire, and a finished stoneware bowl...

I gotta get them going still! I will probably make them in a couple different sizes and shapes. I'll post the results soon.

Wow! Very nice! I have to admit, I love seeing the kiln being loaded up and ready to go. Poor thing probably thought it was never going to be used again!

Glad you're making great use of it. Though you better get working on those frag plugs because I think the natives are getting restless! :spin3:

Make sure you continue to update the thread with more of your work. I can't wait to see it...

That one is an Amaco cone 6 "Potter's choice" glaze called Iron Lustre. It's in the unfired picture too - the grey one on the upper left. I bought a 5 gallon bucket so I'm going to have a lot of that color!

I figured out that the material for making plugs works out to about half a penny each, so it's all in the labor and electricity cost. Gotta make me some molds...
