OT: Anyone know a good home HVAC company?

Sorry to be off topic... looks like our AC fan has bit the dust. Thankfully, it's cool this evening! So it looks like we are going to be replacing some stuff, and wondered if anyone could recommend a business. We live near Altamonte/Winter Park.

Thanks so much,
Danielle

PM WingnutSr, i believe that's what he does.

Yes, that is what I do. But I am currently up in Gainesville doing it. Next stops are Palatka, and then Tampa. I won't get home to Clermont until Friday night.
I would not be able to be of any help until Saturday at the earliest. Sorry.

The weekends are the only time I am at home. The company I work for services US Army Reserve buildings. I travel all over Florida, and 4 other states as well. I do not yet know where I will headed to next week.
I hate to say, you may need to hire a local repair company. And I do not know the local companies. Ask around, as you did here.

But I do hope you have great time at MACNA!!!

You must be like the 6th person I've heard of having their AC brake :( I hope you're able to get everything working again soon.

I only know of the guys who installed ours when they built our house but they're quite possibly on my end of town. I think they were Del Air

There is that company right next to SITC thats like Promag energy group? i'm not sure if they work on ACs or what but I want to say they do something like that.

Hope this helps

Well they installed for the developer that made our subdivision and I wasn't very impressed with Del Air either but wasn't sure if it was just me or not ;p

Ok, between you guys, and Wingnut, and a couple of husband's contacts on another board, we are on track. (And wouldn't you know it, but we tried the fan today, and it works! Well, sorta. Enough for now, thankfully. Whew! Buys us a little more time!)

Thanks so much!
Danielle

Good that the fan is now working. Not to pop your bubble, but it probabally won't last too long. Time for a new motor.
If you hubby is a little competent with a few tools, he could remove it himself, take it to a local shop, get an exact replacement and re-install it him self. Would save you a bunch of money for the labor and trip charge. Just make sure he labels the wires when he unhooks them. Oh, one more thing. If he does do this, make sure he gets a new capacitor with the motor. And while he has it all apart, clean the squirrell the blower itself. That will help alot. And don't forget a new air filte.

Pulling the disconnect before pulling the good wires is always a good idea too!

(Hopefully he already has that part figured out!)
