Yeah, I was one of those that fell for the low priced printer and now I'm paying for it in ink. Anywhere local I can get it for cheaper than typical retail?

try ebay there is a place in socal that sells ink super cheap. I got 6 sets for my brother printer for the price staples charges for one.

Thanks for the suggestions.

While we're on the topic of Lexmark, does anyone have a method of cleaning them? The heads seem to get clogged real easy, and the printer cleaning does nothing. I've tried taking it out and manually cleaning it which helps, but doesn't solve the problem.

Lexmark replaced my printer twice because they knew of that exact issue. They finally upgraded me to a better model for the third time.Call them even if you're out of warranty.

I have three ink jet printers I'm waiting to take for disposal. They all use more ink to run a cleaning cycle than they lay on the paper. I went back to laser last year at the shop and the toner lasts about a year. Replace the toner cartridge and you replace the drum.
Still have the ink jet at home for pics but most of those we use a dedicated photo printer. After tossing $100's at the ink we went laser for everyday stuff at home as well.

HP has some pretty cheap lasers, I'm using a Laser Jet 1020 B&W printer, and it's a lot faster the low-end ink jet.

The "abacusink"place on ebay sells you a the whole pack of all of the colors and a black cartridge for about $20 shipped.
