Check the link above and check the post card your loving Tax Assessor Bill Staples sent you a few months ago. Then call your County Supervisor and ask them how much they will drop the rate to make up for the assessed increase. They will either not answer or say it too soon to answer or as one Executive Director of one Supervisor told me, some are fighting a rate reduction because this is a way to raise taxes with out being held accountable. Most people will see a 30% increase, some up to 70%, I know one who got a 120% increase. If you rent still sign this since your landlord will need to raise your rent.

My increase from 2006 to 2007 was 100% - absolutely insane. My monthly payment will increase $250 a month. Many states have laws limiting the increase. In many instances without such measures - people have been forced to sell their homes because they couldn't afford the increase - and IMO Arizona is going to continue to grow faster than most other Western states. If you don't think this will affect you, you are in for quite a surprise. Thanks John for the heads up. I can't believe so many people here in Arizona are so unaware of the situation ...
