OT: Attention Gamers

^^^BUMP^^^

For those of you reading this thread, and you already have a 360, I highly suggest that you try playing Mass Effect... it is such an improvement on their older games (Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2, Jade Empire), which were released back on the original Xbox years ago... only this time, MAss Effect is more of an RPG/shooter/adventure hybrid than just a straight up RPG like KOTOR 1 and 2 or Jade Empire ever were.

Trust me... what knowledge that I lack in the world of saltwater tanks, I make up for in video game knowledge... go out and give it a try.

This is probably one of the best games I have played in years. I wasn't a big Assasin Creed fan, kinda got bored with its repetitiveness. I saw the commercials for Mass Effect and for some reason wasn't interested in it at all. Went in to rent a movie and everything was out so I decided to rent it.

Its a great game. Play it.

good to know. I'e been wanting to pay Mass Effect. I did like Jade...and the 1st KOTOR

Then you will DEFINITELY love Mass Effect... it's like 1,234,538 times better/more involved than Jade or either of the KOTOR games were... it just feels like a bigger and better experience, based on the 12 hours that I have put into it so far.

I agree that the game was repetitive, but it was one of the easiest 800+ points worth of achievements in a single game that I have ever unlocked...

haha I just play to kill some time.

The story of Mass Effect really drags you into it. I was watching a special on it and they said something to the effect that the story actually makes you feel like your in it. And it does, the speech they give when they induct you, standing in front of everyone. Was a cool speech! And the one you give to your crew, awesome! And thats just scratching the surface.

Game rocks, plain and simple.

We got our kids an XBOX 360 for Christmas. We got a killer deal at Wal-Mart.com. We got the system with the 20gb HD, a Carrying bag, 2 wireless remotes, Ultimate Alliance, Halo 3, and Forza Motorsports 2, plus a 3 month subscription to XBOX Live for just under $400. She also found a promotion for $.97 shipping. We ordered it Tuesday and is should be here tomorrow. Not a bad deal if you ask me. Now I just gotta get Guitar Hero for her. I think that is the reason she wanted to get it for them.

Awesome deal you got there... feel free to send me a friend list request once you get up and running... it's nice having locals on the friend's list... especially fellow reefers!

So I was talking to a buddy of mine Monday about the Wii. We looked everywhere. His Mom goes to target Tuesday and see's a Wii on the shelf and grabbed it for me. So Elizabeth will be surprised for sure.

I go out yesterday to get some things for my nephew and Toysrus has a dozen or so on the shelf. Go figure.

What else do I need to get with this Wii? I did not have time to look yesterday while out. Certain games? I am sure I will need a second controller and from what I hear another nunchuck?

i have xbox 360 with xbox live and its great talk to people all over the world ,my girl friend got it for me on my birthday 2 years ago.

My suggestion would be for you to get "Wii Play" for that system... you get a game and an additional controller for only $49.99. It includes nine mini-games, which are actually kind of fun to play... not as fun as "Wii Sports", but it's really close.

That's the bundle I was just looking at. Cool. Thanks.

No problem... :smokin:

Another "can't miss" Wii game should be Super Mario Galaxy... I asked for it as a Christmas/birthday gift, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get it!!!

LMAO... not a problem... I get saltwater tank information from you guys, and I supply the video game information... sounds like a win/win situation to me.

Yeah, definitely get the standard $249 console... don't let yourself get "talked" into one of those other bundles, where they try selling you extra games and/or controllers for $100-150 more than the $249 asking price.

How much does a Wii run? I might get one later on this year. Wii would like to play(bow).

The system is $250, but when I bought mine, I spent $400 to get an extra Wiimote, a couple of games, and an extra nunchuck.

So $250 will get you the system, one controller and Wii Sports, but at a minimum add $50 to that to get anotehr Wiimote.

I already know I am getting Mario Galaxy next week. I'm pretty excited ;)

Between that, Mass Effect, and Rock Band......ya, my tank may be neglected for a couple of months

True... but if you get Wii Play (as I suggested earlier), you get an extra controller, in addition to having another nine mini-games.

And I agree with you on being excited to play Super Mario Galaxy next week... it could very well be the first game that I play once I unwrap all of my Christmas/birthday gifts on the 25th!!!
