It all started when the weather cooled down and I have seen more of the predators appear , I am assuming they are coming down from the mountain ( I live at the base of the Supers). I was in the backyard a couple of days after I took the pics and came within about 10 feet of another one ( it chilling out in the shade behind some rocks) and we made direct eye contact for about 10 seconds and went back into the house to get the camera and when I came back out it was slowly walking away. It wasn't scared or being aggressive at all.
My wife likes to feed the birds in the area ( mostly Quail, Doves, Woodpeckers and Hummingbirds) and I think that is what attracted to the cats
I do believe the cat(s) have moved on, I haven't seen any since
