OT: buying boat

Paint me green too!

It sounds like you guys are having an absolute blast!

So did you buy the boat new? I'm pining away for a boat myself, although I probably won't be able to get one until we sell our house (that is in a neighborhood with a boat dock)

I hazard to guess what your class tanks will be holding next year. :)

Yes, we got it new. We didn't want to buy someone else's problem, and we wanted the warranty. I have met several people though that are selling good boats at very good prices. Cost of living (mostly the cost of gas I think) has made it not worth owning it for them. I think there are many deals out there at the moment.

Classroom tanks? Yes, I'm finding some wacky things in the grasses but I'm bringing home NOTHING until time for school to start up again. I get burned out from tanks towards the end of each year.

Went out today and we said we were going to get dinner!!! We've caught several fish of different types/sizes but we were on a mission. I wanted my kids to get the first feeling of catching a fish and bringing it home to eat.

We only made it out for 1-1/2 hours before the storms chased us away - they never really showed up though but we left.

Went to a stilt house and granted, for you big fishermen this is nothing, but very cool for our kids.

We caught 5 legal mangrove snapper and fileted them up. We didn't have the right hooks, bait or even tackle ...but....

WE'LL BE READY NEXT TIME ;) they kept biting thru our little 10lb line and we lost a couple of other probably very good fish.

Anyways...they were yummy and my kids are ready for more.

btw from other thread...been tubing one more time and friend rode with my son and all went fine (except my heart rate).

deck boats... :rolleye1:

congratulations on boat buy either way, thats always exciting.

My old 17 Aquasport has been sitting in my buddies warehouse waiting on me to finish it... not enough money or time :(
