OT: Cell phone stolen!

Tonight, someone stole my cell phone right out from under me at Blockbuster! I didn't have phone insurance so now I either have to find a used Verizon phone or eat it and pay full price for a new phone. Does anyone have a decent used Verizon phone they would part with?

Update! Blockbuster has video of the two girls behind me in line putting my phone in their purse, then they rented a movie! I filed a police report and they are going to get the video and the name, address and phone number of the account they used to rent the movie. Not exactly professional criminals.

I just sold a couple of them to one of those wholesale joints. In the event Jeff's phone doesn't work for you, people buy and sell them on craigslist frequently.

Um, if your cell phone was stolen, the SIMM card went with it. You will need to get a new one to make the phone "yours". Verizon can help with that.

Verizon uses GSM down in Milwaukee? I wasn't aware they had SIM cards.

I am no expert and could be screwing up the nomenclature. I was able to grab the little white card from my Nokia and stuff it in my RAZR and the transition was painless. I think that was a SIM card. I could certainly be wrong, it happens several times a day.

Verizon uses CDMA same as Sprint and US Cellular. CDMA phones do not use sim cards.

Updated! Got a call from a detective this morning who wanted to know if I want my phone back now Turns out that the person who rented the movie wasn't the same girl who took my phone, but the cops picked her up and "interviewed" her at the station. The detective told me that he threatened to arrest her for not stopping her friend and she gave her friend up The phone mysteriously showed up at the police station sometime in the middle of the night. He did say that they can't really charge her because I left it behind, she could just say that she took it to return it to me. Either way, I'm getting my phone back on monday!
