ok i know this is way off topic but everyone better keep there eyes out on there credit and debit cards because i woke up this morning thinking everything was all fine and dandy and would be a good day till shortly after i got to work and started getting calls from chase bank and capital one about how overnight my accounts were suspended for suspicious activity and was more than likely fraud. After losing a few hours of work and being on the phone forever sure enough somehow someone was able to get a hold of my debit card # and my capital one credit card which i haven't used in over two years but keep it around incase for an emergency. everything got straightened out but now i have to get all new checks and wait for my new debit card in the mail and crap. totally sucks. you don't think it could happen to you but sure enough as it just happened to me it could happen to anyone so everyone should watch out and use there cards carefully

i had that happen before. i carry coverage for fraud just in case.

I only got scammed thankfully so far on filters lol, yet I know many people that have had identity theft happen, so truely it can happen to anyone. In my case paypal told me to have the bank reverse the funds, bank did, and then paypal said I (and not the scammer) owed them, even though they decided in my favor. No longer use paypal, as it was a major headache, long story short ending up with creditors calling me bc paypal sold my account to them. I ending up having to send the creditors letters that legal action would be taken if they continued contact w/o proof of debt, which ended the ordeal as I haven't heard from them since.

Glad they were able to identify early. I have a friend who was taken for $35,000!!!!

I had that happen last year. Someone used my debit card to open a PP account and hit my account for $800. Luckily, my bank covered it and went after the perpetrator. Not sure if they caught them but I at least got my cash.

Ever since, I use 1 card for internet only. It only carries a $5 balance and I transfer $ into it whenever I need it.

I'm sorry to hear that what was your soc? LOL I just got hit last week for 3500+ I'm locked up tight now. Hope it works out for you.

im glad they were able to figure it out quick too before i got a bill in the mail and freaked out. im definitely going to do something different for online purchases though. serpentman what kind of card do you use to put money on it? like a visa gift card type or something.
