OT- Elevated Patio with Pavers

You really need to follow the instructions you found about digging out 7" and filling with rock and sand. You cannot build this up on a wood frame, it will sag and/or collapse under the weight. Especially if you use 2x4's. It also needs to be very level and you will want to rent a soil compactor. If the soil isnt compacted before you add the weight of the pavers the pavers will eventually compact it and the patio will have high and low spots. This isnt really a project that can be done cheaply and look good. Just my opinion, but I do deal with this on quite a few of my projects at work.

I think I decided to just do the grunt work and dig it out assuming their is no wires where I'm digging. (just waiting for them)

I'm going to rent a vibrator/tamper. 4" crushed limestone, edging, 1" sand, and then my pavers.

Now I watched a lot of adult videos in my young days and I never heared them call it the "tamper."

Learn something new every day lol
