Evo....

I was never a fan of either until my buddy with an Evo left his car with me while he went to Mexico..... Fun little car, felt alot better than the STI I had driven before it....

Still no replacement for displacement and Id take my Cobra over either. :D

EVO....I don't have an EVO but a GTS-CVT 09 Lancer, and love it. For a 4 banger it really gets up. It seems faster than my old accura legend v6 and the CVT transmission with the paddle shifters are fun. I test drove the EVO and it was exteme, only if I could afford the insurance.

I personally wouldn't choose either, I'm with Doug on the Cobra...but from what I HEARD (don't quote me on this) is that the EVO is pretty much topped out horsepower wise and the STI still has a lot of horsepower to gain if you want to put the money into it. I would get the faster one though, which ever it is.

Not even close..... my buddy has been getting work from a company called AMS Performance in West Chicago, and they have a TON of stuff for the Evo.... He just slapped a cat back stainless exhaust on it that free'd up some HP and he's going to be getting an entire intercooler kit with new piping and a tune which will bring his boost to around 23 PSI... Pretty sick....

They also do STX'es I believe...

www.amsperformance.com

You should be able to tell what year my car is by my screenname. :D

What about mazdaspeed 3 :-) I am spot on with an sti with just an intake (unless it's snowing heh) and I can fit most fishtanks in the hatch with the seats down. Can't beat 28 MPG avg. at these prices either.

They average 15K all the way up past 30K depending on mileage and condition....

I know ekrunch will add some info to this since he has an Evo himself....

Myself personally though, I will never have a non-V8 RWD car for a performace car... My buddys Evo was a BLAST, but it still didnt feel right to me.

I have a 1992 Talon AWD,i really don't think anyone on here has a quicker street car;)

Pretty bold statement to make that NOBODY on here has a quicker street car.....

ANY car can be driven on the street. :D

Those little turbo AWD cars are fun though.... still no replacement for lots of cubes though.

If it werent for this damn hobby my car would be sporting a big fat turbo this summer.... BUT NOOOOOOO I have to setup a 180g reef with all the bells and whistles. :lmao:

Oh well, there's always next spring to do it. :D

If your dead set on a rice burner I don't think anything can compete with the potential of a Supra...and you can get one of those for around 30K

Im with madadi, Nissan gtr for the win! but i would want an r34

Having said that im still a mustang guy there is no replacement for the sweet music of a v8, im partial to the high revving DOHC.
