MAN, now I want a terminator again.... I just dont want to sell my Cobra to get one and I dont really want a car payment at this point in my life..... :mad2:

My dad has an 04 SVT that i'll have to pry from his cold, dead hands. He loves that thing, the new body styles haven't even phased him. He's totally sold on his.

If all it took was an RC thread to sway you, you were never an import guy. ;) American Muscle is good though, I grew up in it. Dad ran top fuel and owned a performance auto shop in LA. Nothing better than the sound and smells of big motors... and there really is no replacement for displacement. But I still love the Evo, even my Dad recognizes it as a solid platform. He's the one that came up with the "really fast Go-Kart" thing. :D

So if not an Evo or STI, what now? Terminator Cobra? Vette? Maybe something MOPAR?

I personally wouldn't choose either, I'm with Doug on the Cobra...but from what I HEARD (don't quote me on this) is that the EVO is pretty much topped out horsepower wise and the STI still has a lot of horsepower to gain if you want to put the money into it. I would get the faster one though, which ever it is.

AMS in Chicago has a couple 1000 AWHP Evo's running around. The most powerful STI I've ever seen was something like 700 AWHP. I used to own an STI...just traded it in. I wouldn't buy either. Even though the problems with the 4G63 were "supposed" to have been fixed with the Evos, it has never been a reliable engine. And Subaru can't build a transmission to save their lives.

MKIV Supra for me. :D 1000+ rwhp on the stock block and transmission, and with some headwork you can rev it to 9 or 10k and get 3-4000 rpm's worth of that power. Wide Open Throttle Motorsports runs an 8.6x at 170 with the stock tranny...that's 1400+ whp.

I know, I know... All the uber-charged, flux capacitor injected, 4 gerbil-blender talk is BORING....:rolleye1:

But if you are trying to get me on the RWD side, you have to yell things like.....

MOPAR OR NO CAR!!!

Speaking as a current 4G63 owner, i'd say it's the best part of my car. The stock clutch is probably the worst part. I do know a lot of people that have had problems with them in the past. I'd imagine the guy who posted 40+ PSI of boost has blown his out a few times... At a factory tuned 22 PSI, i've got no issues. My biggest problem is that I let my car site for way too long at one time and I seem to spend more time blowing out the cobwebs than actually driving. :(

Just for reference though, 4G63 is no longer the current motor. Evo X has a 4B11 in it. Whether that's a good or bad thing remains to be seen.

Man I love MKIV Supras... Always have. Nice cars. I just wasn't willing to spend that kind of $$$ on a used one. At the time when I purchased my Evo, I only had one car so having a warranty was a nice add. I do plan on buying a truck soon though so i'll probably start playing with my Evo or sell it to someone and get a hard core tuner.

Mine runs...... Just eats coolant and I'll probably crack something if I race it. :lmao:

I'm hoping that I can get the motor pulled next week and get to work on it... Work has just been nuts, and Im too cheap to pay someone to do it.

LOL...sorry but that was funny!

And I think Doug's runs, he started it a couple months ago when I was over there, but I don't know if it moves :)...atleast it sounds great though!

It still moves. I just cant drive it for extended amounts of time on the expressway.... it eats coolant when you keep it in the high revs for any period of time.... Thats why its gotta get broken down to figure out whats wrong with it and Im going to yank off all the emissions garbage while im in there......

But yes, it was also a good shot by Ed. :D

Actually i have yet to throw a rod on this motor, either the headgasket blows, transfer case blows, axles, rear end,driveshaft..So far motor has stayed together for 60+ passes.Maybe it's the Groden rod/Diamond piston combo?
