or

Intel ® Coreâ"žÂ¢2 Duo Processor E6400 (2.13GHz, 1066 FSB)

both will have 2 gig ram

so which is faster and better i kinda think AMD cause 64bit processing

any computer gurus help me out here

Haha...the big debate amongst computer nerds ;)

I love AMD and will swear by it...they are wonderful. I've got an AMD Athlon 64 3200+ in my computer and it's great. Depends on who you ask, but I say AMD :)

i've been wanting to go AMD just need the little push away from pentium, i imagine benchmark results would lean towards AMD with 2 gig ram and pci-e ati radeon x1300 pro 256mb, i know small graphics card but thats what comes with i will buy new one this summer

i have burned up too many AMD processors compared to Intel processes

never burned up a processor. My desktop has an AMD that I ran 24/7 down at school and played many on-line high performance games.

My laptop has intel and while I haven't played as many on-line games I still play a few high performance ones. Never had I even overheated one, much less burned it up to where it won't perform at all.

i only heard of burned up processors from overheating bad fans, not keeping cool, or building a new system and forgot to use thermo paste, other than that i've played hours of high end games no problems.

I have an Athlon XP 2500 that is overclocked to a 3200, doesn't get hot and after 2+ years is running great. I did drop the core voltage down a little but that should be standard practice when overclocking.

Both have their pro's and con's but I have been an AMD person since the 386 days.

thanks, i think i know which way i'm going, i'm switching from pentium, nvidia to AMD, ATI cards my first system with AMD and ATI graphic card

Make sure you check out my buddy Mikes prices before you buy. Some things like monitors and hard drives you can get at Best Buy or somewhere cheaper due to volume but I usually just buy it all when I'm there. This week I just built a 3500 amd with 1 gig and sata raid setup. Fast as snot too. I ran into a problem with getting my first edition XP to recognize the hard drive system and so I tried to slipstream sp2 into it but failed. I had Server 2003 enterprise edition here so that's what I used. I'm real happy.

My home computer is an amd2400+ and it's been on 24/7/365 since May 05 and it's pretty peppy too. Well I guess it was off during parts of the power outage.

Over the holidays I built an AMD system and an Intel system and they were to do the same thing (one for me, one for the GF). After that debacle, and after all the hassle with getting things setup, I would definately go AMD.
Between the Intel E6400 I built and the AMD 5000+ I built (both with 4 gig RAM and 7900 graphics cards), the AMD was less of a hassle and has worked smoother. I find that AMD is more bang for the buck in the long run and we use these computers for about everything.
Just my .02

wait another 2 weeks cause microsoft is coming out with a new versoin that is hitting the shelfs in early febuary. (i work at circuit city so i know this stuff)

WHile I had big troubles from an AMD chip back in the 90's and have been INtel ever since.

K62's really sucked. A lot of people didn't even know it but it wouldn't run right unless you put a driver in that loaded out of the dos boot. Even the manufacturers didn't do it. The onboard chip cache was disabled and it couldn't even access the ram correctly.

Vista is out already for tech net and microsoft partners. Last night at 10 pm they had the consumer kick off event at Best buy in Chesterfield valley with Marc Bulger signing box copies?? Maybe he's a computer fan or ?? But at 1am it went on sale to the public I believe.

They removed the link to the price sheet. I'm guessing it's because it was an excel sheet hosted. The site is integrationcomputers.com and the homepage has the link to the price sheet. It says on the homepage that it is June 06 prices but when you click on it, it will take you to this weeks price sheet he just doesn't update his home page.
