i'll keep ya posted on progress. when i was about six, my dad found a baby squirrel. raised him, tagged him...and was our backyard pet and lived in the huge maple tree for several years. :love2:

I had a couple of friends that raised baby squirrels. They love pockets!
Man those things can JUMP. That one pic cracks me up... it looks like it's smiling in the cotton. Good luck with that!

i know, Gary....the one that looks like he's saying, "oh this feels so good"? that's raw cotton...i keep it for the birds in the aviary...they like to shred it. Just finished hand feeding him some kitty formula. He slurps. Amazing little guy.

Thanks for the well wishes guys...hope i can keep this little dude afloat.

kat- I work for fairport animal hospital and we get much of the sick/ injured/ adonded wild life from the area. we have had great luck with KMR, a powder that you mix with water and then bottle feed. they should have it at most pet stores :)

ding ding ding on the KMR....got some this morning! Scrat is doing fine thus far. Picked up a nursing bottle with the KMR and he is suckling. He's stretching...and YAWNING...which is adorable. Likes to wrap his paws around my finger when i'm feeding him. His eyes have not opened yet...so only a few days old. Breathing is good...snuggles into the cotton and seems to be lovin' that. His tongue is U shaped right now...and sometimes after he yawns, it sticks out a little...soooooooooo flippin' cute. He also had the hiccups this morning. And you can tell VERY WELL that he is a boy. My neighbor is calling him Stud.

oh my gosh...............i just laughed so FREAKING LOUD.........my neighbors...my poor neighbors.....hahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahahhaha

Awww, I'm so sorry! He was lucky to have a better end than he would otherwise have had, but that doesn't make it much easier for you. :(

Thanks Lisa. I held him in my hands when the labored breathing started....until it stopped. We buried him under the lilac tree.
