ot - hard cider

Fermentation has begun....good amount of bubbling and rolling in the carboy messed up when I added honey...most of it settled out on the bottom but I also looked at it this way....the yeast will use what it wants and when it all dies it will stick to the bottom making racking easier....:)
 
Well my hypothesis with the Honey being on the bottom has failed. It's all gone now and it looks like the yeast has used all of it.....I'm getting scared now....:)....But it's perking along nicely for almost a week
 
First Racking done...I waited to make sure it was all done bubbling ..... Now to see how long it takes to clear out some.
 
You will want to move away from the brew buckets for primary. So much head space. risks of infection. and can't see what the heck is going on. look for a 6-6.5 gallon glass carboy.... and you'll never go back. Still I use the bucket in the very beginning for mixing, and at the very end for bottling.
