Well just our luck, we managed to get through most of the Summer with a very old (20+years) air-conditioner and this past Saturday it decided to crap out on us. Rather then sink money into it we have decided to buy a new air (central) and furnance.
We recieved our first estimate last night and I thought it was on the high side. Our home is about 1550-1600 sq feet and for a fairly standard system they quoted us $6,640. I had expected to pay between $4000-$5000. Has anyone else purchased a new system and if so, what is a ball park figure of what you paid?
