Hi
I would like to ask you guys who live near ocean for advice on selecting a GPS helpful in navigating in Gulf of Mexico and some of that area.
The only experience I have is with Garmin Gpsmap 76 but map on CD included with the unit doesn't show canals and small rivers inland. Are they all like it?

Please help
Thanks Roman

dont know how old it is, but im pretty sure if its only a couple years old it should be pretty detailed, especially the new units

I have the Garmin 188C and you can buy the BlueCharts for the areas you are navigating. I have the one for all of South Florida and Bahamas and it shows every little detail for all the waterways. I've had mine for about 4 years now and Garmin has of course upgraded alot of their units. Check their website.

My Standard Horizon unit takes C-Map cards (like an SD card) that can be updated or replaced. It shows all the waterways in Fort Lauderdale, but the map stops out west if you go too far inland.
