Over the years I have read posts from people who want to leave California. I think this is just a natural way of population control. The weak leave and tons more move in. The population of the area continue to go up (except during the recession). There is a reason why more people want to come here.

My wife and I noticed on our commutes, the traffic has become heavier in the past few months. I know the traffic here can be bad, but it always gets me when someone from SoCal LA area complains about the bay area traffic. lol.

I don't know much about gun laws here since I don't own one, but I'm glad they don't allow anyone that had a 5150 to be near a gun.

Yeah there isn't a huge outcry of "affordable housing" in San Francisco because those who can't afford to live here actually leave. Heck there's a recent trend of RV living just to prove the point, p*sses me off to no end.

I can say this cause I'm asian, but I dislike how asian food is taking over the entire bay area. I live in Daly City and for decent Italian, Greek/Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, etc, I have to venture to SF or San Mateo.

Yeah I'm not a big fan of "common Chinese" food, the ones that have fried rice with various meats, chow mein with various meats, sweet & sour pork, chicken, broccoli beef, etc... basically the same exact menu at multiple places.

Tell me about it! Theres like 4 RVs parked on 2 main streets that intersect each other by my house...there was also one that caught fire and burnt to a crisp not too long ago...and one that keeps getting searched by cops...:deadhorse1:

The "Safe Space," where I don't have to listen to others ideas. They have cookies and coloring books. I cant stand having my feelings hurt. Without California, where would I go? I love the gun laws, the soda tax, the new gas tax, cigarette tax, Bart, the transients urine smell, Jerry Brown, Dianne Feinstein, The Real Housewives of OC, the open minded individuals, entitlement, traffic, etc. On a real note, I do like the fish stores.

moved here a year ago from VA. Never been to SF prior, one day i had the opportunity to move here as a transfer for work, said sure why not and now i dont plan on leaving.

like others have said, the amount of activities to do here seem endless. Beach it up, or head to tahoe and shred some natural powder. Cant complain about weather, going from 4 seasons to really just nice breeze all year. People are very friendly and open here, people back east are usually grumpy.

the downside: everything here is expensive, esp if you're looking to own some property. I guess you have to pay to enjoy all the benefits.

Growing up in Va too, my dad just told me that DC metro area is as expensive as here now.

When I first moved up here in 2014, my girlfriend (now wife) and I agreed we would stay for 3 years max. 3 years later, we bought a house and now have a '5 year plan' to move back to San Diego. As much as I miss San Diego, I think there is a good chance we'll be staying here for good. There are plenty of things to complain about around here but it has really grown on me.
