If you are in a hurry to cool the boiled water, you could throw in a few ice cubes. Just a thought.

Cubes are cloudy, but not crumbly. They are less cloudy than usual though. Maybe if I had used filtered water it would have been clear. I think the crumblyness(if that is not a word, it is now) has a lot to do with the temp of the water when introduced to the freezer.

and my greatest attempt to make ice break is by falling on it

nice stick handling in the first foto kizzle. ice is not clear though.
