We have 4 positions open at my office in Alcoa, 2 replacements, 2 new hires from growth.
We (V Alexander dot com) are an international transportation and custom's broker firm. In a nut shell we arrange import transportation by sea and air, we clear it through customs, and deliver it to the hundreds of businesses in E TN that are importing from overseas.
Requires good customer service, 70% of the day keying dates and data, HS diploma, and background investigation (9/11 thing).
1 position is a courier to drive to airport and customs plus filing.
3 positions are keying data and dates - it's more complicated than that; you have to learn to classify into customs tariff number, call carriers to find status of cargo, etc.
There is no experienced pool of employees in Knoxville so we expect to train the biz part from scratch. We'd even consider new HS grads with the right attitude / aptitude.
